STONE James Earl Stone, 57, of Wellington, died Monday, May 3 at his home of gunshot wounds. He was a farmer and a native of Morgan County. Survivors are his wife, Julia Creech Stone; three daughters, Gayle Kilgore and Shirley Perry both of Frenchburg, Loretta Stone of Wellington; three sons, Darrell Stone of Stanton, Stanley Ray Stone of Morehead and James Hargis Stone at home; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Edith Crouch of Lexington, Mrs. Callis Green of Louisville, Mrs. Edna Hatton of Vortex and Mrs. Alberta Griffitt of Paris; three brothers, Jake Stone of Michigan, Maynard Stone of Wellington and Wilson Stone of Mary. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, My 6 at 1 p.m. at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Campton with Rev. Doyle Thomas officiating.
