Obituary: Halsey, Roy - Saturday, August 28, 1976 Wolfe County News - Sept. 3, 1976 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** ROY HALSEY DIES AUG. 28 Roy Halsey, 65, of Murphy Fork, died at 1 a.m. Sat. Aug. 28 at the Appalachian Regional hospital, West Liberty. He was born Aug. 18, 1911, at Murphy Fork in Morgan County, a son of the late Noah Jephia and Nannie Francis Murphy Halsey. He was a retired farmer and Kentucky State Highway worker. He was baptized Feb. 7, 1956 and attended the Old Grassy Christian Church, he was also a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors are his wife, Maxine Harmon Murphy of Murphy Fork, Rt. 2 Hazel Green; five daughters, Bette Mays of Rt. 2 Hazel Green, Kennie Spradlin of Dayton, Ohio, Sandi Mulky of Route 2 Hazel Green, Sheri Caudill of Dayton, Ohio and Karen Hackney of Route 1 West Liberty; one brother, Hobart Halsey of Mt. Sterling; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30 at the Herald and Stewart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Kenney, and Rev. Glenn Lawson officiating.
