PELFREY, 80, DIES MAY 4 Mr. Charles Pelfrey, 80, died Wed. May 4 of an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Wolfe County, a veteran of World War II, and a retired farmer. Survivors are two daughters, Miss Lisa Fern Pelfrey and Miss Freda Pelfrey both of Campton; one son, Corbett Pelfrey of Campton; two grandsons, Lawrence R. and James N. Pelfrey, both of Campton, two granddaughters, Mrs. Phyllis Lacy and Miss Pam Pelfrey both of Campton; two great grandchildren, one sister, Virginia Couch of Beattyville, KY. Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 6 at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Omer Spencer and Rev. Doyle Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Spencer Cemetery on Quillens Chapel Road with Shackelford Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. I found another obit which I feel is a corrected and more complete obit, probably written by the family, but unfortunately I forgot to get the date of the paper. Charles Pelfrey was born Dec. 25, 1896, and departed this life on May 4, 1977 of an apparent heart attack at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 3 days. He was a native of Wolfe County, a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer. He was the son of the late John Frank and Rose Fulks Pelfrey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Tolson Pelfrey, Sept. 12, 1974. He is survived by one son, Corbett Pelfrey of Campton, Ky., two daughters, Freda and Lisa Fern, both of Campton, two grandsons, Lawrence R. Pelfrey and James M. Pelfrey; two granddaughters, Mrs. Phyllis Lacy and Miss Pam Pelfrey, all of Campton; two great grandsons, James Scott Lacy and Michael Lawrence Pelfrey; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Couch, Beattyville, Ky. He also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services were conducted at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 6 with Rev. Omer Spencer and Rev. Doyle Thomas officiating.
