WOLFE COUNTY NEWS - June 17, 1953

MELISSA PECK SUCCUMBS AFTER 10 - DAY ILLNESS

Mrs. Melissa Ellen Peck, 78 died Sunday afternoon at 5:15 in the St. 
Joseph Hospital in Lexington after a ten day illness.  She took ill with 
a stroke at her home near Hazel Green.  She was the daughter of the 
late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cox.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She is sruvived by her husband, Jack Peck, and five sons; Richard Peck, 
Hazel Green; Jeff Peck, Hazel Green;  Jim Peck and Clifford Peck both 
of Pittsburgh, Pa; and Darlie Peck of Lebanon, O; two daughters, Mrs. 
Myrtle Bach, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Oma Bowser of Irwin, Pa; about 17 
grandchildern and some great -grandchildren.

Also two brothers, Robert and Jack Cox, both of Middletown, Ohio and 
two sisters, Mrs. Junie Brewer, Middletown, Ohio and Mrs. Deed Faulkner 
of Wolfe County.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Peck home near Hazel Green 
Wednesday morning June 17, at ten o'clock and burial will be at the 
Public Square cemetery about a mile below Hazel Green at one o'clock that 
afternoon.
