Maloney, 36, son of Mrs. Estill Brooks of Hazel Green, Ky., and the late Charles Maloney, died in the Veterans hospital in Louisville, Wednesday afternnon, June 10 at three thirty o'clock after an illness of 3 and one-half years with that rare disease called Hodgkins Disease which is usually fatal. He was in service during World War II for almost three and one-half years. He was saved three months ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Stevens Maloney of Cincinnati and the three and one-half year old son, Larry; his mother, Mrs. Grace Brooks of Hazel Green; three brothers, Bruce, Charles and John Maloney, all of Cincinnati and two half-brothers, Gayle Brooks of Middletown, O., and Billy Brooks, at home in Hazel Green; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Catanzarro of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Orville Boothe of Campton and two half sisters, Mrs. Jerry Lykins of Franklin, Ohio and Miss Betty Jo Brooks of Dayton, Ohio; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for the deceased were conducted at the Campton Baptist Church, Friday afternoon, June 12 at two o'clock with Rev. J. Edward Cunningham, pastor, officiating.
