Wolfe County News - April 1952

DEATH CLAIMS GEORGE TYRA	

George Tyra, the son of Eliza and the late Mack Tyra died suddenly at 
his home on Sunday, April 20th at 6.a.m.  One of his daughters went to 
call him for breakfast and he remarked that he was not able to get up.  
The daughter went back to the ktichen and told her mother that her 
daddy was sick.  His wife went at once to see about him and he was dead in 
a few minutes.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Willa Combs Tyra and 
his children; Combs, Leonard, Verona, Earl, George, Jr., Ray, Arthur, 
Lillian, Betty, Fern and Blanche.  He had one daughter, Margaret who 
preeded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday April 21 by Rev. Sam Rose and Rev. 
John Dalton and burial followed in the Kash Cemetery at Landsaw.
