CURTIS, 70 FORMER WOLFE TEACHER, DIES Bessie Spencer Curtis, 70, of Mary d. Thursday April 24, of an apparent heart attack at the home of her sister, Bonnie Harvey, in Campton. Mrs. Curtis was a former school teacher and had taught for 32 years in the Wolfe County school system. She was a member of the Church of God. Surviving are her husband, Jesse Curtis; four sisters, Esther Lewis of Pontiac, Mich., Bonnie Harvey and Virgie Gibbs of Campton, and Margie Pelfrey of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Robie and Kenneth Spencer of Rogers. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Campton church of God by Rev. Doyle Thomas. Burial was in the family cemetery at Rogers under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Campton.
