OBITUARY: Pelfrey, Zona, October 15, 2003, Middletown Journal From: da120757@infinet.com Date: Thursday, October 16, 2003 Mrs. Zona Pelfrey, 90, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at Triumph East Hospital in Channelview, Texas. She was born in Wolfe County, Ky., on June 30, 1913. Mrs. Pelfrey lived in Middletown since 1940. She has lived in Houston, Texas, for the past four years with her son, Billy Neal Pelfrey, and his wife, Sandra. She worked at the Central Store for 20 years in the shoe department, retiring in 1972. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Pelfrey on Dec. 15, 1999; sisters Bonnie Allen, Zola Connely and Betty Myers; and brothers Ceaser Nickell and Leo Banks. Mrs. Pelfrey leaves a son, Billy Neal Pelfrey, and his wife, Sandra; three grandchildren, Mike Pelfrey, and his wife, Gena, Billy D. Pelfrey, and Scotty Lee Pelfrey, and his wife, Stephanie; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Parks, and Shawna, Casey and Shannon Pelfrey; brothers Cecil Nickell, and his wife, Christine, of Middletown, Bill Nickell of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Ralph Banks of Michigan City, Ind.; sisters Evelyn White of Brooklyn, Mich., Buela Jean Soner of Georgia and Gwendolyn; and nieces and nephews Debbie Knorr, Betty Christler, Bonnie Wells, Dee Krasse, Mark Nickell, Treva Wright and Larry Pelfrey. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Oct. 16, at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger D. Green officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday prior to the service.
