Johnny Dalton of Landsaw, was accidently killed Jan. 16th, when a coal mine in which he was working caved in, burying him with tons of dirt, rock and slate. He was rushed to the St. Jospeh hospital in Lexington, where he died of internal injuries a short time later. Mr. Dalton was a young man in his early thrities. He leaves a wife and infant child born Monday and other children. Funeral services and burial were held Tuesday near his home. Jan. 1948 Wolfe County News. On November 21, 1913 the first son was born to John and Lilie Daulton. He was given the name Lee. He was a kind, gentle child and brought joy every day to his parents. At the age of six he began his school work at Buchanan school and later finished the eighth grade at Hazel Green Academy. He was a good student, always beloved by his teacher and school mates. At the age of twenty-one he was married to Pruda Campbell, youngest daughter of the late Caleb and Rosemary Campbell. To this union were born six children: John Caleb, (deceased) Virginia, Lilly Rose, Charles, Kenneth and Linda Lee, who was born after her father was brought from the funeral home. Lee died the 18th of January, 1948 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington. Besides his wife and children he leaves his parents, Rev. and Mrs. John Daulton, two brothers, Charlie and Ralph of Baptist, and three sisters, Mrs. Ova Tyra, Baptist, Mrs. Troy Moore, Clay City; Mrs. Thomas Walters of Lexington and many other relatives and friends.
