Ingram, whom the citizens of this county had honored with the Sheriff's office in 1929 and in 1933 was again elected to the office of County Judge, died at his home in Campton, September 10, 1946, at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 27 days. During his tenure in office he became the senior partner in the firm of Ingram and Murphy, in the merchandise business and led a very successful business career and later his firm obtained the agency for the Chevrolet automobiles and trucks, and operated the most modern garage in Eastern Kentucky. The high esteem and respect that the entire citizenry of this town and community held for Judge Ingram was clearly manifested on the day of his funeral. Every business house of Campton closed its doors before 2:00 the appointed time for the service to begin and the newely erected Baptist church hardly accomodated the crowd that attended his funeral. The Rev. Earl Morris, of VanLear, formerly pastor of the Baptist church of Campton, conducted the funeral services with Hearne Funeral Home in charge. The Pallbearers were Omer Catron, M.H. Rose, Chas. Lindon, Corbett Pelfrey, Orville Booth and Steve Rose: Honorary Pallbearers were James Swope, M.H. Booth, Jim Bolin, Bruce Rose, J.I. Terrill and J.J. Hughes; Flower Girls were Louella Ingram, Reta Lee Rose, Reva Terrill, Joyce Bach, Monelle Neely and Juniette Elkins. Immediately after the funeral the body was laid to rest in the Evans Cemetery near Campton. He leaves to mourn his going, Mrs. J.B. Ingram, his widow, one daughter, Mrs. C.W.
