ANOTHER RESIDENT OF CAMPTON DIES

Mrs. Lu Emma Roberts, 84 whom most residents of Campton knew as "Aunt 
Lu", departed this life, March 21 at the home of her neice, Mrs. George 
Holt.

Aunt Lu has been in poor health for sometime but had kept going until a 
short time before her death Thursday.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Shepherd and her death was 
the first among the children of the family although her parents had been 
dead for several years.  She was married to W.H. Roberts on February 3, 
1881 and he preceded her in death about 18 years ago.

Surviving are two brothers, John Shepherd of Campton and Stephen D. 
Shepherd of Edmond, Oklahoma; four sisters Mrs. Mary Gross of Patsy, Ky., 
Mrs. J.H. Childers of Winchester; Mrs. R. L. Tyler of Brazil, Indiana 
and Mrs. Thomas G____y, of Campton.

Aunt Lu,  ------in God and for many years and remained faithful; to her 
trust till death.  Rev. Ramah Johnson and Rev. John C. Bassett; were in 
charge of the funeral services at the Methodist Church here.  Interment 
was in the Shepherd graveyard near Grannie.
