LONG ILLNESS IS FATAL TO ROBT. MULLINS William Robert Whisman, age 50 died at his home in Delaware, Ind. on Wednesday afternoon of August 22, 1951. He had operated a garage in Delaware for many years until about three years ago when ill health forced him to close the garage. He had suffered from a heart attack and liver ailments. On June 9th, he suffered a stroke and was made bedfast until his death. He was born in Wolfe County, Ky, on March 24, 1901, the son of the late Alice Chamber Whisman and Hiram Lee Whisman. On April 6, 1923 he was united in marriage to Nora Russell. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Nora, one daughter, Mrs. R.C. Everage of Wadesboro, North Carolina, one son, Lynn Whisman at home and two grand children, Tina and Robert Everage. Also his father, Hiram Whisman and a step-mother, of Madison, Ind., a brother, Elisha Whisman of Sunman, Ind., two sisters: Mrs. Anna Russell of Salt Lick, Ky and Mrs. Lula Hollon of Moore's Hill, Ind; four half brothers, James, Cincinnati, Charles, Frank and Jeff Whisman, all of Aurora, Ind. Seven half sisters: Mrs. Alice Brewer, of Newport, Ky, Mrs. Grace Carter, Houston, Texas, Mrs. Gladys Polly, Rexville, Ind.; Mrs. Emma Huntington, Friendship, Ind: Mrs. Bertie Campbell, Frankfort, Ind: Mrs. Ruth Eades, Madison, Ind. and a host of other relatives and friends. His mother, a son, Bine, one sister, Mrs. Francis Rose and two brothers, John and Lee preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Delaware, Indiana Methodist church at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 1951 with burial services in the Craven Cemetery, Milan, Ind with C.F. Murphy in charge.
