HURST LEE COUNTY CLERK, DIED TUESDAY MORNING Z.T. "Zack" Hurst, 54, County Court Clerk of Lee County, and a native of Wolfe county, died at a Lexington hospital Tuesday morning after a eight-weeks illness. A brother of the late Sam Hurst, former Circuit Court Judge. Mr. Hurst was one of the most widely known residents of eastern Kentucky. He was born in Wolfe county and attended Lees College in Jackson and Berea College. He had an active life which brought him into contact with many person in this section of the state. Durning prohibition days he served as deputy United States Marshall in 10 east Kentucky counties. Later he settled in Lee county and served that community as Police Judge and later was elected Sheriff of the county. He was County Court Clerk in Lee at the time of his death. Solon of one of the county's oldest and most prominent families he was widely related. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clemmie J. Hurst, a son, Albert; a stepson, Wallace H. Wells of Hazard; three sisters, Mrs. South Rose, Mrs. A.B.
