A. WELLS, LAST OF FAMILY GOES TO REWARD Anna Rose Wells was born Oct. 10, 1868 and departed this life Sept. 28, 1951. She was the last member of the David and Millie Stamper Rose family. Four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. They were Dave, Bowen, Camp Rose, and Granville Rose, Mrs. G.T. Center, Mrs. S. J. Wells, and Mrs. Marion Long. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons, Robert Wells of Lexington, Ky., and Amos Wells of Middletown, Ohio and three daughters, Mrs. Sadie Peyton, Lexington, Mrs. Elmer Bertram, Leeco, and Mrs. M.K. Peyton, Cannel City. Also 27 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Wells (nee Anna Rose) was united in marriage to Sanford Wells of Cannell City at the age of 16 years and went there to live out the remainder of her life. She was born and reared near Stillwater in Wolfe County. She was saved and united with the Salem Church of God in Morgan county, 55 years ago and lived a devout Christian life since that time and was also a wonderful wife and mother. Funeral services were held Sat. at the home of her daughter, Nannie Petyon, with whom she made her home. The funeral was preached by Rev. James Perkins and the beautiful singing was done by the choir from the Zoe Church, Lee County, which is the Church of God where Jewell Bertram belongs.
