He had been in ill health through the winter. Death resulted from complications following an attack of flu. Mr. Allen has devoted his entire life to farming and the timber business was actively engaged in his farming until a few days before his death. Born in November, 1868, on White Oak creek in Morgan county, he moved to Wolfe County with his mother when 15 years of age and settled at Lee City where he resided until a few years ago when he moved to Campton. He is survived by five sons, Grover C. Allen of Jackson, Leeborn, Seebern and Freeland Allen, all of Campton: and William Allen of Bainbridge, O.; two daughters, Mrs. T.C. Boothe of Mt. Holly, Ohio, and Mrs. F.M. McIntosh of Middletown, O,: forty-one grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
