Allen of Bear Pen, died in her home on July 24. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Newt Allen, three sisters; Mrs. Clayton Moore of Wheelwright, KY, Mrs. Robert Moore, of Campton, Mrs. Hobert Creech of Middletown, OH and by three brothers, Marvin and Hendrix Allen of Campton and Sheridan Allen of Cincinnati. Miss Allen was well known in this community. She was a graduate from Campton High School in 1931, and continued her education at Lee's Junior College in Jackson, and at Eastern-State Teachers College in Richmond. She taught three years in the rural schools of this county and worked for a number of years in the Farmers and Traders Bank. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon in the Campton Methodist Chruch by the Rev. Farmer of Mt. Sterling, Ky. It was a beautiful service, attended by one of the largest crowds remembered on such an occasion. The body was interred in the Campton Cemetery by the Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton. The entire community extends sympathy to the breaved. Carole Note: Newt (Wm. Newt) was the son of Granville Allen and Salina Bailey. Mrs. Allen was Sarah Miller the d/o George Washington Miller and Cinderella Louisa Shackelford.
