MRS. MARY GILLESPIE DIES AT HAZEL GREEN

Mrs. Mary Belle Nickell Gillespie died Tuesday afternoon, January 2 at 
the home of her son, Charlie Gillespie, in Hazel Green.  She suffered a 
stroke about three weeks prior to her death and another about three 
days before.

Funeral services were conducted at the home of her son, Charlie with 
whom she had lived on Thursday, January 4 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. 
Willie Taylor officiating.

Burial was in the family graveyard on Grassy Creek.

Her husband, Columbus Gillespie, preceded her in death about 15 years.  
She was a member of the Christian church and one of the county's oldest 
citizens.

She is survived by her three sons, Henry, Rodney and Charlie, all of 
Hazel Green and two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Gibbs and Mrs. Malvie Gibbs 
both of Hazel Green, several grandchildren and other relatives and a host 
of friends.
