Obits: Little, George, died July 1951 Oct. 2002 Wolfe County, KY Submitted by: http://www.rootsweb.com/~archreg/vols/00001.html#0000062 Wolfe County Genealogy and Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Wolfe County News, July 18, 1951 LAST RITES HELD AT CAMPTON FOR WRECK VICTIM George Little, 39 of Campton died Sunday morning at 2:00 a.m. in Winchester, Ky, as a result of injuries received in a car wreck Saturday afternoon on Highway 15 near the tower at Pine Ridge in Wolfe County when the car in which he was driving hit a slick spot in the pavement and slewed around, crashing into the embankment on the opposite side of the road. With him in the car at the time of the accident, were his wife, Jammie (Janie) Little and his six year old son, George, Jr. Neither of them were hurt. It was reported that Little was crushed beneath his steering wheel and never regained consciousness after bing removed to the Guerrant Clinic in Winchester by an ambulance of Hearne's Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, and three sons, Ray 17 and Brack 16 and George, Jr., 6 his mother, Mrs. J.S. Little, who is 80 and was making her home with him. One brother Willie Little of Campton and five sisters, Mrs. Mary Noble, Murray, Ky, Mrs. Sallie Banks, Bethany, Ky, Mrs. Winnie (Vina) Shackelford, Flat, Ky., Mrs. Cora Banks, Murray, Ky; and Mrs. Carrie Whisman of Campton. Funeral and burial services were in charge of Hearne Funeral Home. The funeral was held in the Campton Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Shirl Davidson officiating. Burial followed in Evans Cemetery.
