WOLFE COUNTY NEWS, September 27, 1950

HEART ATTACK FATAL TO SHADE LUTES

Shade Lutes, in his sixtys, died at his home on Friday morning of a 
heart attack.  He is survived by his second wife, Florence Lutes of Vada, 
KY., where they lived, a son Herbert Lutes and daughter, Catherine 
Lutes both of Vada, KY and also a daughter, Mrs. Francis Cable of Vortex, 
in Wolfe county.  A son, John, by his second wife.

One brother, Tom Lutes, of Vada, Ky. and a sister, Mrs. Priscilla 
Bradley of Franklin, Ohio, a host of other relatives and friends.  He was a 
member of the Christian Church; and had been a veternerian for several 
years.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at the Christian Church at 
Union, Ky. and burial followed in the Lutes cemetery at Vada, Ky.

I show Christopher Columbus "Shade" Lutes (1877-1950) as the s/o 
Christopher C. Lutes & Lucinda S. Roberts. I have Shade's first wife was Anna 
Belle Davis; 2nd wife was Florence Taulbee.

Shade's sister, Priscilla, was married to "Gus" Bradley.
