WOLFE COUNTY NEWS - March 20, 1957

FUNERAL RITES CONDUCTED FOR B.T. HELTON, 81

Benjamin Taylor Helton, age 81 died at his home near Valeria, March 15, 
1957.  He was a retired postmaster, having filled this position at 
Valeria 32 years.

He is survived by his wife, Eliza Helton, Valeria; three daughters, 
Mrs. Carmie Lane, Valeria; Mrs. Nellie Lane, Maytown and Mrs. Elsie 
DeRossett, Dayton, Ohio; also three sons, Carl, Percy and Roy Helton, all of 
Valeria.  Four brothers, Harve Helton, Valeria; Jim Helton, of 
Flemingsburg; Steve Helton of Dayton, Ohio and Bill Helton of Pomeroyton.  Four 
sisters, Mrs. Sarah Culbertson, Seaman, O.;  Mrs. Ella Osborn, Dayton, 
O.; Mrs. Rhoda Culbertson, Mt. Sterling, and Mrs. Cinda Lawson of 
Valeria.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at the Clifty 
Church with Rev. John Frank Powell officiating.  Burial was in the Helton 
Cemetery.

B.F. Porter and Son Funeral Home were in charge.
