Wolfe County news - July 1952

LAST RITES HELD THURSDAY FOR BELLE HENSLEY

Mrs. Belle Bryant Hensley of near Clay City, but formerly of Rogers, Ky 
died on Thursday afternoon, July 10, enroute to the hospital.  Mrs. 
Hensley had been in poor health for some time; but death came unexpectedly 
and was a great shock to everyone.

Survivors include ; her husband, Charlie Hensley, Clay City, two 
daughters; Mrs. Zelphia Gentry, Dayton, Ohio: and Mrs. Hazel Lenore Sparks, 
Clay City; Five sons: Claude, Ernest, Herman, Porter and Cyde Hensley, 
all of Kalamozoo, Michigan, and several grandchildren.

Two brothers, J.C. Bryant, Rogers: and E.C. Bryant of Indiana; four 
sisters; Mrs. Ellen Brewer, Idaho; Mrs. Laura Brewer, Rogers; Mrs. Ida 
Stpehens, Minnesota; and Mrs. Sara Bryant of Florida.

The deceased was the daughter of the late Granville Bryant and Millie 
Ann Spencer Bryant.  She was 66 years of age the past March.  She was a 
kind neighbor and will be greatly missed in  her community.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.J. Powell of Nada and Rev. 
Jasper Creech of Lexington.  Interment was in the Spencer Cemetery at 
Tarr Ridge.  Hearne Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
