September 29, 1945 Oct. 2002 Wolfe County, KY Submitted by: http://www.rootsweb.com/~archreg/vols/00001.html#0000062 Wolfe County Genealogy and Carole Bayes ************************************************************************ DEATH TAKES AGED RESIDENT OF COUNTY Mrs. Mary Eversole, age 75 died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Esau Spencer, at Quillen Chapel Saturday afternoon, September 29, at 5:00 o'clock. "Aunt Sis," as she was affectionately called by her friends, had been ill for several years. Mrs. Eversole, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Spencer, was born in Wolfe County on October 10, 1870. She was married early in life to Mr. John Branson, and to their union a daughter, Mae Branson Spencer, was born. After Mr. Bransons's accidental death years ago, she was united in marriage with Mr. Anse Eversole; and to this union three children were born. Mr. Eversole preceded her in death by a few years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Esau Spencer and Miss Bertha Eversole of Campton, and Mrs. C.E. Johnson of Winchester; a son, Jimmy Eversole of Campton; 13 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Eversole was a member of the Baptist Church. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Herbert C. Hollon at the home Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Internment was in the Spencer Cemetery at Quillen Chapel.
