Aug., 1945 Oct. 2002 Wolfe County, KY Submitted by: http://www.rootsweb.com/~archreg/vols/00001.html#0000062 Wolfe County Genealogy and Carole Bayes ************************************************************************ CLAY ROSE, 84 DIES AT LEE CITY AFTER LONG ILLNESS Clay Rose, aged 83, died at his home in Lee City, Monday, Aug._ after a long illness. Mr. Rose the son of the late James and Henryetta McGuin Rose, was born at Lee City on Oct. 22, 1891. A retired farmer, Mr. Rose was married early in life to Miss Carrie Wells and to this union seven children were born. His wife and two of his children, Haney Rose Lewis and Jeff Rose, preceded him in death. In later years he was united in marriage with Miss Lula Walters and to their union four children were born. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Rose; four daughters, Hala Rose Pratt of Texas, Mrs. Bertie Chandler, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Mrs. Willia Kash of the home address, and another daughter, Hattie who is married and lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma; five sons, Asa of Tulsa, Boone of Eminence, Howard of Tulsa, Finley of Dayton, OH and Walter, an evangelist in Ohio. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon in the yard of the home with Rev. Buchanan, a missionary officiating. Burial under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, West Liberty, was made in the Allison Rose Cemetery at Lee City. [Note: this was not my typo on the age difference, that's the way it read.
