He died April 2, 1947 at his home. He was the son of Hiram Swango and Sarah Shockey. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Swango of Campton, his sons, Hiram of West Va., and Henry Clay, Jr., of Penn., and his three daughters, Mrs. Charles Owens of Louisiana, Mrs. Homer Landrum, Kentucky and Mrs. Jack Combs, West VA., twenty-one grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Swango died after a long illness of heart dropsy. He was a member of the Baptist Church, joining in 1926. His funeral was preached at the home by Rev. John Dalton on April 5th. He was buried in the Swango cemetery on Stillwater, April 6th. Mrs. Jane Swango wishes to thank the following people for their help during the illness and death of her husband, Henry Clay Swango.
