LOGAN NICKELL, 76 CLAIMED BY DEATH

Logan N. Nickell, 76, father of Xenia's Police Chief Stanley L. 
Nickell, died Sunday at 2:15 a.m. at his home near Jamestown.  He had been 
seriously ill since Wednesday.

The son of Marion and Isabelle Little Nickell, he was born in Wolfe 
County, KY., April 17, 1874 and had resided in Green County since 1911.

Besides his son in this city, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara 
D. Lacy Nickell, whom he married in 1893; two other sons, Lacy E. and 
James P., of Dayton; four daughters, Mrs. Netta Watts, Muncie, Ind; Mrs. 
Etta Abbott, Hamilton, O.: Mrs. Hazel Crowl and Mrs. Evelyn Welsh, 
Jamestown; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was the 
last member of his immediate family.

Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Neold Funeral Home in charge 
of Rev. I.A. Smith, Pastor of Jamestown Baptist Church.  Burial was in 
the Woodlawn Cemetery.
