Wolfe County News, July 1948

EMMA JANE KASH was born November 25, 1896.  She departed this life July 
15, 1948 being 79 years, 8 months of age.  She was the daughter of Dr. 
Bill and Polly Swango.  Her husband, H.B. Kash preceded her in death 
several years ago.  She leaves two sons, Roy Kash of Valeria and Percy 
Kash of Middletown, Ohio.  Two daughters, Mrs. Ben Helton (Elizabeth 
Kash) of Valeria, and Mrs. John Murphy (Grace Kash) of Pomeroyton, Ky.  One 
sister, Mrs. Belle Hughes of Middletown, Ohio.  Also serveral 
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She had made her home with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kash for several 
years.  She had been in poor health for sometime but able to be about 
and do a little each day until the day of her death.  She was taken ill 
quite suddenly and suffered greatly for a few hours.  She clapped her 
little bony hands and said she was ready and going to meet her Saviour.  
Her presence and smile will be greatly missed by her children and 
relatives.

A precious one from us has gone, a voice we loved is stilled a place is 
vacant in our home which never can be filled.

Emma Jane Kash b. 1869 d. 1948

This cemetery is located on KY 2027 and copied by Roy Kash, Jr., s/o of 
Roy Kash and I suppose grandson of Harvey Burns and Emma Jane Kash.

Carole & all--
Thank you so much for the information about Emma Jane Swango Kash.  She 
was a sister to my g-grandmother Sarah Caroline Swango Wilson.  I had some 
of this information.  O.C.  Helton had printed and article and a picture 
of her family several years ago.  But there was more here than I had.  One 
thing puzzles me.  I have her married--O.C.'s info--to William Burns Kash.  I
understand he went by the name Burns most of the time.  Does anyone 
know about this?

Harvey Burns  & Emma Jane Swango Kash were my g-g-g-grandparents.  
They are buried there at Valeria up on the hillside from the Culbertson Farm.
