Tyra, 52, died of a heart attack, Wednesday, June 8th in Dayton, O., He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Robbins Tyra, of Campton, three daughters and three sons. His daughters are Mrs . Pauline Cable, and Mrs. Monell Bungardner, both of Campton and Mrs. Marcella Tutt of Dayton, O., His sons are Pfc. Marcus Tyra of the U.S. Army, whose base is in Alaska, Erna Buel, 16, and Dannie 12 both at home. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Maranda Tyra, who makes her home with her late sons family in Campton. Three grandchildren, Jimmy Wallace Cable, Julia Tutt and Darrell Bumgardner. Four nieces, three nephews, three aunts and two uncles, other relatives and a host of friends and acquainances. Funeral services were under the direction of Hearne Funeral Home, Stanton, and were conducted at the Campton Methodist Church, on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with the pastor, Rev. Joseph Lewis, officiating. Special music was funished by the church choir and Bill Dunn's choir. Burial followed, in the Evans cemetery on the family burial plot. The Masonic Order, Cox Lodge had charge of the service at the grave. The pallbearers were all nephews of Mr. and Mrs. Tyra; Captain, Erna Clifford Tyra, Campton, Russell G. Derickson, Linden, N.J.: L. Chaney, Jr.: Ray Chaney, Joe Chaney and Estill Chaney, all of Stanton. Mr. Tyra had been in business in Dayton, O., for the past seven years where he operated a rooming house. Prior to that he was a member of the State House of Representative from Wolfe and Powell counties for three terms. Tyra was known to his many friends and acquaintances as "Big Hearted Erna" because he was always ready and willing to help anyone in need of assistance. He was a member of the Masonic Order. He will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends in the county and elsewhere. His father, the late D.B.
