J.W. ADAMS DIES IN CLARK AT AGE OF 69

J.W. Adams (Watt) 69, merchant of Pine Ridge, died at the Clark County 
Hospital in Winchester on Feb. 9, 1955 after a brief illness.  He was 
born Sept. 17, 1885 the son of the late Randal Adams and Mary J. Baker 
Adams.

He was united in marriage in 1914 to Mary J. Spencer Adams, d/o the 
late D.F. Spencer and Polly Miller Spencer.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary J. Adams, Pine Ridge; eight 
daughters, Mrs. Emma L. Champion, Chester, Pa; Mrs. Flossie O'Bryant, 
Dayton; Mrs. Sally M. Heiflner, Winchester; Mrs. Rena Noble, Dayton; Mrs. Ruth 
Burchett, Dayton, Mrs. Frances Wages, Indianapolis, Ind; Miss Billie 
Berle Adams, Pine Ridge, James Edward Adams, Indianapolis, Ind; Maurice C. 
Adams, Dayton; and Rondal I. Adams, Pine Ridge.  Also sixteen 
grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Watkins, Elkatawa; and Mrs. Ella Spencer 
(his twin sister), Rogers; and Mrs. Frona Byrant, Lothair.  Several 
nieces and nephews and other relatives and a  host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Rogers Church by the Rev. J.F. 
Powell of Lombard, and the Rev. M.P. Bryant of Rogers.  Burial was in 
the Adams Cemetery near Torrent.  Hearne Funeral Home was in charge of 
arrangements.
