DAY, 84 WIDELY RELATED GOES TO REWARD Maytown, Ky., Dec 10 - (By Mabel Williams) - R.A. Day, former resident of this place, quietly passed away Sunday, December 2, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Inez Childers in Whitney Point, N.Y. at the age of 84 years, following a lingering illness of caner of the stomach. The remains were brought back to his old home at Tar Ridge and on Friday were laid to rest beside that of his wife, Mrs. Fanny Patrick Day, who had preceded him in death some six years ago. He was a son of the late Archibald and Annie Cox Day, he being the last one of a large family. He is survived by two sons, Floyd of Ohio and Alvis of Tar Ridge, and one daughter, Mrs. Inez Childers, of New York, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He had been a member of the Masonic Order for fifty years and was also a member of the O.E.S. chapter. He was widely known and had a host of friends and several relatives in Morgan, Wolfe, and Menifee counties. Funeral services were held at the old home place by Rev. Steele after which the Masonic Order observed their usual rites. Michell and Douglas funeral directors of Mt. Sterling were in charge.
