DAY SUCCUMBS AT ARMY-NAVY HOSPITAL JULY 18 Dr. Edward Owens Day, a native of Hazel Green, died Tuesday night, July 18, in the Army and Navy hospital, Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born in Hazel Green, December 15, 1882, the son of Fred N. and Zarilda Wills Day. He was graduated from the University of Arkansas, and had been a practicing physician in Little Rock, Ark., for over forty years. He entered the World War I, as a Lieutenant in the Medical corps, after being promoted to Captain, later being commissioned a Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Reserves. This Commission he held at his death. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Dorothy Day, and a daughter, Dorothy Edwina Day; a brother, Willis Lee Day of Mt. Sterling; and a sister, Mrs. William Everett Bach, of Lexington. One aunt, Mrs. C.F. Kash, Loveland, O., and the following niece, Mrs. Wm. O. Blackburn, of Dry Ridge; Mrs. Maurine Steele, Lexington; and Miss Inez Day of Mt. Sterling. He has many relatives and also friends in this county.
