OVA HOBBS DIES, NATIVE OF LEE

Ova Hobbs, son of James K. and Lou Swango Hobbs died of a heart attack 
at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 27 at the family residence in Brownstown, IN.

Born Jan. 13, 1891, in Lee County, he was a member of the Big Andy 
Baptist Church.

He was married to Mary Elizabeth Legg in 1913.  His wife survives.

Hobbs attended Berea College and taught school in Lee and Wolfe 
Counties.  In 1921 he moved to Rochester, where he engage in farming.  In 1932 
he moved to Brownstown, Ind where hs spent the remainder of his life.  
He had been in failing health for the past two years.

Besides his widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A.A. Canfield 
of Suffield, Conn., Mrs. Kenneth Barnes, Linton, Ind., Mrs. Fred 
Archelahl and Mrs. Orval Darlage of Brownstown, Ind; 14 grandchildren, four 
sisters, Mrs. Callie Bowen and Mrs. Russell Bowen of Bowen, Mrs. Waldin 
Morgan of Newport, and Mrs. Early Horton of Middletown, Ohio,  and a 
host of nephews and nieces and friends.  He was preceded in death by a 
sister and two brothers.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 30 at the ____ Funeral 
Home.  Burial in the Fairview Cemetery at Brownstown.
