J.H. SPENCER DIED FRIDAY IN V.A. HOSPITAL

John Henry Spencer, age 60, farmer of Sandy Ridge, died on March 22nd 
in the VA Hospital, Louisville, where he had been a patient since March 
15th.  He was a member of the Church of God, Campton.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Spencer; six sons, Wilton, 
Dayton, O.; Roy, Olympia, Wash; Chris, Middletown, O., Jimmy, Paul and 
Charles, all at home; four daughters, Mrs. Monavene Wells, Olympia; Mrs. 
Jane Herald, Huntington, W.Va: Miss Mazie and Imogene Spencer, at home; 
three sisters, Mrs. Anna Sparks, Heidelberg; Mrs. Dora Cable, 
Beattyville; and Mrs Lora Spencer, Campton, also 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at the First 
Church of God, Campton, with the pastor, Rev. Walter Strong, 
officiating.  Burial was in the Evans Cemetery,  B.F. Porter and Son in charge of 
arrangements.
