DAVID LINDON Funeral services for David Lindon were conducted at the Hazel Green Christian Church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, July 25, under the direction of Hearne Funeral Home. Services were conducted by Rev. Wendell Taylor and Prof. H.A. Stovall with the local church choir singing "In The Sweet Bye and Bye" and "When the Sun Goes Down" A selecton of appropriate records were played on the chimes by Mrs. William Earl Lacy before the funeral and afterwards. The burial services at the Hazel Green cemetery was in charge of the America Legion post No. 179. Frank Rose served as commander of the firing squad which was composed of Buck Lykins, Mitch Roark, Graydon Taulbee, Mr. Ratliff, Mr. Watkins, Mr. Goode and Elmer Roberts carried the flags and I.M. Combs, Post Commander read the funeral dirge and presented the flag to Mrs. Lindon, mother of the fallen comrade in arms. All the immediate family were present at the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lindon of Campton; Mrs. Bill Emerick and family of West Liberty, Mr. and Mrs Osa Miller of Winchester and many other relatives and friends from the county in fact the church overflowed into the yard and (I can't read the next two lines) Pallbearers were W.S. Dunn, Chas. E. Lindon, Clifton Miller, William Sewell, Talmadge Lacy and A.R. Vancleve. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
