A coroner's jury found that his death was due to natural causes, and that he had been dead for about a week or more. Mail was found in his box that had been put there on Monday of last week. Mr. Holt had an operation for cancer of the throat about three years ago and was forced to breathe through a tube inserted into the trachea or windpipe. It is believed this tube became stopped up or dislodged causing him to choke to death. He had not been able to talk since his operation, but could swallow and eat normally. The deceased was born in Boyle County, Kentucky, the son of the late William and Elvira Davenport Holt. He had lived in the Pine Ridge community for many years having been a worker in the timber woods and around the sawmills. George Holt of Campton, a brother is the nearest relative suriving. A divorced wife lives in Middleton, Ohio and an adopted son, Wilbur Holt, died in World War II. Preliminary funeral arrangements at the Hearne Funeral Home indicated that burial would be made Tuesday in the Campton Cemetery. Mr. Holt had told friends that he wanted to be buried in Middletown, O., but the poor condition of the body and failure to complete arrangements in Middletown, indicated burial in Campton. ************************************************************************* USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons.
