OBITUARY: Rudd, Melvin C. - Saturday, January 30, 2010 Rudd, Dorothy R (Bledsoe) - Saturday, January 30, 2010 Published in Dayton Daily News - 1/31/2010 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************* RUDD, Melvin C. and Dorothy R. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 30, 2010 at their residence. Melvin was born in Wolfe County, KY on October 1, 1933 and Dorothy was born on November 1, 1939 in Duffield, VA. Melvin was employed by General Motors for 30 years and they were both self employed in the insulation business for 16 years. Melvin was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents Dorsey C. and Goldie (Miller) Rudd, a sister Christine Rudd Tolson, 2 brothers Mervin D. Rudd, Carl B. Rudd; Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Cora (Tyler) and Cart Bledsoe, 4 brothers Roy, Arthur, Harley, and Jack Bledsoe, 2 sisters Kate Burke, Bernice Bledsoe. Melvin is survived by 3 brothers Garland Rudd North Vernon, IN, Ottis Rudd of Carlisle, KY, Odus Rudd of Franklin; Dorothy is survived by 2 brothers Elmer Bledsoe of Duffield, VA, Wade Bledsoe of Duffield, VA, a sister Betty Tomlinson of Dayton, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. They will be greatly missed by Suvoyee, Teresa, Tytuss, and Kodee Rudd, Stanlee, Amber, Zachary, Andrew, and Nathaneel Rudd; and a host of family and loved ones. Funeral services are Wednesday at 1pm at the Dixie Highway Christian Center 5287 Dixie Highway Franklin ,OH with Rev. Dave Bowling and Pastor Garland Rudd officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5- 9pm at the church. " We know they are way better off where they are at now; than the way they were here". Melvin went to help Dorothy and suffered a massive heart attack, possibly while trying to lift her.
