Obituary: Bates, Della C. (Fletcher) Tackett - Thursday, March 5, 2009 Published in the Middletown Journal Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** BATES, Della C. age 69, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away March 5, 2009 at Atrium Medical Center where she had been a patient for one week. She was born September 12, 1939 in Wolfe County, Kentucky and lived in Middletown for 55 years. She was employed at Square D for 33 years before retiring. She was a member of the Elizabethtown First Church of God. Preceding her in death were her parents, William H. and Emma Madden Fletcher; her first husband, John Tackett in 1972; two brothers, Leroy and William "Brad" Fletcher; two sisters, Loraine (infant) and Betty Clemons. Della is survived by her husband of 23 years, Edward Bates; two sons, Henry E. Tackett of Franklin, Ohio and Denny (Cindy) Bates of Gratis, Ohio; one daughter, Judy (Gary) Ashley of Monroe, Ohio; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, James O. (Betty) Fletcher of Franklin, Ohio and Tim W. (LaDonna) Terrill of Miamisburg, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Vicki Fletcher of Middletown; one sister, Maxine Ashley of Middletown; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Elizabethtown First Church of God, 8900 Chamberlain Road, Carlisle, Ohio followed by funeral services at 5:00 p.m. at the church, with Reverend Robert Northcutt officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, March 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Madden Cemetery, Wolf County, Kentucky, with her son-in-law, Pastor Gary Ashley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Childrens Fund at the Elizabethtown First Church of God, 8900 Chamberlain Road, Carlisle, Ohio 45005. Local Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S.
