Obituary: Hansford, Alvin - Sunday, July 20, 2008 Published in the Dayton Daily News from 7/23/2008 - 7/26/2008 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** HANSFORD, Alvin 69 of Pine Ridge, KY, formerly of Brookville and Lima, passed away Sunday July 20, 2008. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 26 years Mary Ann (Parker) Hansford in 1997; two sisters Audrey Baker, Eunice Tony Dunlap; three brothers Gerald, Ralph & Harlow Hansford, 1 grandson Cody E. Holp. He is survived by his children, Jeannie Marie Hansford & her fiance' Louis Kotronis of West Milton, Alvin Wayne Hansford of Fairborn, Elizabeth Faye Hansford - Riggenbach & her husband Brian of Delphos, Alvin Wayne Smith of Dayton, Thomas Adam Howard of Sidney, Kimberly Sue & her husband Robert Askins of Arcanum, Roy Michael Howard of Cincinnati, Delmer & his wife Regina Howard of Sidney; one brother and sister-in-law Vernon & Corda Hansford of Beavercreek, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and his lifetime best friend Chuck Gentry. Alvin was retired from General Dynamics where he was a Supervisor after 30+ years of service, was a Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, member of the VFW & Eagles, enjoyed playing country music on his guitar and singing, and was a US Air Force Veteran. Alvin's funeral ceremony will be 12 Noon Monday July 28, 2008 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road, burial will follow in Willow View Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Contributions if desired may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Alvin.
