Obituary: Rice, Rexford - Wednesday, April 23, 2008 The Middletown Journal - April 29, 2008 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Rice, Rexford R. 88, died April 23, 2008 at his home in Ocala, Florida. Born near Hazel Green in Wolfe County, KY on May 2, 1919, he was a retired superintendent for the Grinnell Fire Protection Company. He is an Army veteran of WW-II having been awarded the Purple Heart and two Battle Stars for service in France. He was preceded in death by his wife, India Salley Rice; two sons, Eddy and Frederick; and his parents, H.C. Rice and Alva Handy. He is survived by two sons, Dr. Bill Rice and Thelma of Campton, KY and Robert D. Rice and Carole of Toledo, OH; six grandchildren and a nephew, George Rexford Rice, Franklin, OH and a niece, Pearl Morris of Hazel Green, KY. He was buried at Woodside Cemetery beside his wife of 60 years.
