Obituary: Sparks, Pearl F. (O'Hair) - July 12, 1991 The Clay City Times 1991 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Mrs. Pearl F. Sparks, 91 of Middletown, Ohio, d. July 12 at Middletown Regional Hospital. She had been in ailing health for two years. Born in Wolfe County, KY., formerly resided in Clay City for approximately 10 years. She had lived in Middletown area over 60 years and was a member of the Eastview Baptist church. She started sketching and doing water colors when she was in her 70's and won blue ribbons for her works. She also did ceramics. Her husband, Walter H., died in 1932. Mrs. Sparks is survived by two sons, Charles E. Sparks of Middletown and Walter H. Sparks of Germantown; a daughter, Orpha Barnett of Middletown; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Congleton of Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Ethel Brewer of Stanton, and Mrs. Eva Dell Hollon of Clay City; three brothers, Jack O'Hair of Means, Ky., Taylor O'Hair of Clay City and Walter O'Hair of Hazelgreen, KY. Services were Thursday, at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Lelfler funeral Home with Rev. Dwaine Tilford officiating, assisted by her former pastor, the Rev. G. Carroll Starkey of Cleveland, Ohio. Burial in the Woodside Cemetery.
