Obituary: Nickell, Gladys Fern Cecil - Wednesday, March 19, 2008 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** Gladys Fern Cecil Nickell, age 97 of 875 Hwy 203 in Hazel Green, Kentucky passed away Wednesday March 19, 2008 in the Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty, Kentucky after a brief illness. She was born October 3, 1910 in Wolfe County, Kentucky; daughter of the late Charles Frazier Cecil and Mae Rose Cecil. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of the Morehead Nazarene Church and she attended the Old Grassy Christian Church of Mize, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband Everette L. Nickell and a daughter Rosa Mae Nickell Deal and daughter in law Geraldine H. Nickell one sister Imogene Pieratt and one brother Charles Woodford Cecil. Surviving is one son Roger L. Nickell of Franklin, Ohio and four grandchildren Regina Nickell Sams, Eric D. Nickell, David Lee Deal, Daniel Joseph Deal. Seven great grandchildren Jeffery Sams, Rachal Sams, Sarah Rose Deal, Jonathan David Deal, Stephen Lee Deal, Samuel Joseph Deal, Katelyn Elise Deal. Three brothers Wilmer Cecil of Morgan County, Kentucky, J.W. Cecil of West Liberty, Kentucky and Charles Frazier Cecil Jr. of Mize, Kentucky. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday 2:00 pm March 22, 2008 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. James Allen officiating. Interment will follow with burial in the Hazel Green Cemetery in Hazel Green, Kentucky. Visitation 6:00 PM Friday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Pieratt, Joe Pieratt, Thomas Pieratt and Bob Cecil. Active Pallbearers: Jim Sams, Eric D. Nickell, Kenney Cecil, Jerry Cecil, Greg Cecil and Brent Cecil.
