Obituary: Hayes, Avel Napier - Sunday, March 30, 2008 The Middletown Journal on 4/6/2008 Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** HAYES, Avel 83, of Middletown, passed away March 30, 2008 at 2:38 pm. Born in Campton, Kentucky on May 4, 1924, she was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother who touched the lives of everyone she knew. She is survived by Thomas Kennedy, Sr. (son-in-law), Janell Burns (special friend); five grandchildren, Debbie (Joe) Blair and Brenda Weist both of Middletown, Tracey (Jimmy) Alcorn, Steve (Heidi) Kennedy, Thomas Kennedy, Jr. all of Franklin; one sister, Ruby Kincaid of Campton, Kentucky; one brother, Dale (Darlene) Napier of Franklin; many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews; eight great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. She would have also had five generations on both sides of her family in August of this year. She had special friends Juanita (DeeDee) Snelling, Janell Burns, Frances Nickell and all of the Hospice Care of Middletown employees. Preceded in death by her father, Otis Napier and mother, Clare (Sparks) Napier; husband, Rufus Hayes; daughter, Loretta Kennedy; brothers, Estel Napier, Ken Napier; and sisters, Bunt Oliver and Ida Hatton. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 8 at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
