Obituary: Wells, John - Friday, October 1, 1999 Middletown Journal Submitted by: Carole Bays ********************************************************************** John Wells John Wells, 83, of Middletown, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center. The native of Baptist, Ky., was born on Dec. 11, 1915, and had lived here since 1946. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Wells retired from Armco in 1978. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Carrie Wells; three brothers, Emerson Wells, Bill Jeff Wells and Pershing Wells; and a sister, Golden Allen. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ruby; two daughters and their husbands Sally and Jon Christensen of San Diego, Calif., and Rita and Bob Pierce of Monroe; four grandchildren, Cynthia D'Ambrosio, and her husband, Jay, Michael and John Pierce and Eric Christensen; a brother, R.C. Wells, and wife, Libby; three sisters, Zuda Marker, and husband, Bob, Rosalyn Alcorn, and husband, Bill, and Elizabeth Hurst; and many nieces and nephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Colp officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery Mausoleum.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 125 S.
