Mildred M. Birchfield, 80, of Ripley, Ohio died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 at
the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripley, Ohio.
    Mrs. Birchfield was a teacher for the Ripley Union Lewis School
District for 42 years, retiring in 1982. She received her master's
degree from Morehead University, was a member of the Aberdeen Baptist
Church and also was a lifetime member of the State and County Teachers
Retirement Association.
    She was born in Campton, Ky., on Oct. 10, 1918, the daughter of the
late Harris and Nora (Horton) Arnett. She was also preceded in death by
her husband, Otis W. Birchfield in 1997 and six brothers and sisters.
    Mrs. Birchfield is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry
and Billie Birchfield of Springboro, and Rick and Kathy Birchfield of
Ripley; one daughter and son-in-law, Kenny and Ken Kochanski of Las
Vegas, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one brother,
Charles Arnett of Russellville, Ohio.
    ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the
Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, with the Rev. Larry Polston officiating.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Red Oak Cemetery.
