Pelfrey Daniel H. Pelfrey, 86, of Middletown, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at his residence. The Powell County, Ky., native was born on Sept. 5, 1913, and lived in the Middletown area for 59 years. Mr. Pelfrey was a patrolman for the Middletown City Police Department for 24 years before retiring in 1970. He had also worked as the assistant manager of the Middletown Sportsman's Club for 12 years. He was a Sportsman's Club member and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Police. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Morgan and Dora Mae (Spencer) Pelfrey. Among his survivors are his wife of 64 years, Zona N. Pelfrey; a son, Billy Neal Pelfrey, and his wife, Sandy, of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Michael, Scotty and Billy Pelfrey, all of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Shawnna Pelfrey and Casey Pelfrey, both of Houston; three sisters, Melvy Back of West Elkton, Ohio, and Daisey Creech and Blanche, both of Kentucky; three brothers, Fred Pelfrey of Ray, Ohio, and Shelvy and Daily Pelfrey, both of Campton, Ky. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with honor guard services performed by the Middletown Police Department. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
