Wolfe County News 

ROSA BELLE JOHNSON, daughter of Polly Ann Robbins Spencer and James 
Captain Spencer, was born on June 1, 1861 and died on Dec. 30, 1952; 
living to be 91 years and six months of age.  She is survived by two 
brothers and one sister: Samp Spencer, Pine Ridge, Ky., and Newton Spencer of 
Mariba, Ky., Mrs Mary Lee Denniston, Versailles, Ky.

Four sisters preceded her in death, Miama Spencer, Emma Johnson, Kansas 
Sparks, and Rosie Moore.

Mrs. Johnson was united in matrimony to John A. Johnson who preceded 
her in death 22 years and nine months.

She united with the Primitive Baptist church early in life to which she 
was ever a faithful member.

She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and many other 
relatives and friends.

Funeral was conducted at the home of A.T. Durke, where she made her 
home for the past few years.

Rev. J.F. Powell of Nada and J.N. Spencer of Cynthiana, Ky. were in 
charge of the funeral service.

Burial was in the family cemetery on a farm owned by Samp Spencer.
