Interested
in finding more about a marriage record found recently in Scott County, Kentucky.
It is for a Francis Monfort to Sophia Glass and dated June 6, 1809.
Would like to know more about each. I am researching the Montfort.Monfort
family. This may be a second marriage for Francis. He married
his first wife in Pennsylvania to Geertie/Charity Banta, who left him in
1805 to live as a Shaker. They had 9 children of whom at least 4 became
Shakers as well. I am wondering if he had another child by a second
wife, named Aaron. Appreciate any
thoughts.

then removed to the Lauderdale County, Alabama and Giles-Lawrence County,
Tennessee area. His first wife was Eliza Elizabeth Hawkins, and his
second wife, was Mary Ann Shelton Sturgeon.

My ancestors
moved from Scott County between 1911 and 1919. Family history said
they were chased out by Night Riders. Just finished reading "Prime
Leaf", by Jack Wall on the Kentucky Tobacco Wars. Will soon read "Night Riders"
by Robert Penn Warren. Am curious if Scott County had Night Riders
associated with Tobacco Wars or perhaps with KKK. Any information would
be greatly appreciated.

Looking
for information on John Vanzant, who lived in Scott County, Kentucky from
1785-1838. Until 1819, he lived near Stamping Ground and then lived
in Georgetown from 1819-1838. Dozens of family members lived in the area
from 1785-1838, including his brother; James; sister, Susan/Susannah; son,
Isaiah and Mary, who's relationship is unknown. Probably, ten members
of the family got married in Woodford County or Scott County between 1790
and 1830. I'm particularly interested in anything that could help identify
the family's parents that lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and perhaps
also in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania
