HUBBELL, William

Of Scott County, state of Kentucky, who was a Liet in the Regt commanded by Col. Lamb in the Continental Line for the
term of three years.
Inscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of 20 dollars per month to commence on the 27th day of April 1818
Certificate of Pension issued 29 of May 1819 and sent to Col. Richd Johnson, Great Crossings, Ken

On the 27th of April 1818 - William Hubbell appeared in Scott County Court, stated he was b born in Fairfield County,
Connecticut on the 24th of July 1757.  He stated he entered service on the 20th day of April.

Margaret Hubble, widow of William Hubbell of Scott County was inscribed on the rolls of Kentucky at the rate of 400
dollars per annum to commence on the 4th day of March 1834.

Certificate of pension issued 17th day of February 1837 and sent to Hon. John M. Johnson.

On the 8th Feby 1837, Margaret Hubbell appeared in Scott County Court and made oath that she was married to her
late husband on the twenty third day of February in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine at the
house of her father, Rev. John Gano, in Warrick, New York and that she and her late husband resided with her
father for several years after the year 1780.  She speaks of her brother Stephen Gano and a letter from Hezekiah
Hubbell to her father in her papers.  Hezekiah Hubbell was the father of her late husband, William Hubbell.  The
letter was sent to her father concerning their marriage.


She states that her father & mother and her brother Stephen Gano are all dead.  Capt. Daniel Gan appeared and
made oath that he was present for the marriage of his sister Margaret Gano to William Hubbell the 23 Feby 1779.
Pension states that William Hubbell died May 8, 1831.  Also stated is that Margaret was the daughter of Rev. John
& Sarah Gano.  William & Margaret lived in SHelburne, Vermont before moving to Kentucky.  Also stated is that
Warrick, place Warrick, place of marriage was in Orange County, New York.  The Rev. John Gano served as
Chaplain in the New York Line and after the Revolution was a pastor of a church in New York City removing from
there to the "banks of the Ohio"

Soldiers widow, Margaret Hubbell died June 12, 1837.  She had been allowed claim on pension of her husband on
Oct 14, 1838, at that time she was 76 years.
