Of Scott County, Kentucky, who was a private in the regiment commanded by ___ Rice of the Virginia Line for 2 years.
Inscribed on the roll of Kentucky at the rate of 8 dollars per month to commence on the 22 day of  May 1818.
Certificate of Pension issued the 13 day of Feb 1819 and sent to Hon. R. M. Johnson, House of Representatives.

On the 22nd day of May 1818 before me the subscriber one of the Circuit Judges for the Commonwealth afsd personally
appeared Nathan Young, aged 106 years resident in Scott County and district afsd who being by me duly sworn according
to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the provision made by the late act of Congress
entitled "an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary
War"  That he the said Nathan Young enlisted in the year 1776 in the state of Virginia for 3 years in the company
commanded by Capt Rice of the 11th Virginia Regiment in the Continental Establishment - that he served upwards of two
years in the service of the United States as a sergeant and was discharged at Valley Forge in Pennsylvania on account of
indisposition to serve the remainder of his time.  That he was in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown and other
skirmishes and that he is in reduced circumstances now - inf - and stands in need of the assistance of his country for
support and that he has no other evidence now in his power of his said services.
