WRIGHT, James

Of Scott County, Kentucky, who was private in the Capt. Holt's Virginia Line 1777 for three years.
Inscribed on the Roll of Kentucky at the rate of 8 dollars per month to commence on the 18th day of April 1818.
Certificate of Pension issued the 8th of Oct 1818 and sent to R. M. Johnson, Esq - Great Crossing, KY.

April 1818  - James Wright appeared in Scott County Court - stated he served term of 3 years in 1776 or 1777.
Stated he was at battle of Monmouth.  Gideon Underwood declared he knew the said James Wright and both
were from Culpeper County, Virginia and that he served with him in the Revolution.

In 1818 soldier was aged sixty three years of age, his claim was not allowed because the act which he applied
provided for only those soldiers who rendered service of nine months in the Continental Line and the regiment in
which the soldier served was not a Continental regiment.
