Marriage in Frankfort

But the
event of the day was the marriage of W. W.
Deaderick, Esq., the talented young member of
the House from the county of Pendleton, to Miss
Sallie Hardin, daughter of Chief Justice Hardin,
of this city. The wedding took place at a
quarter past 2 o’clock at the Episcopal Church;
services by Rev. Mr. Venable, in the presence of
an immense concourse of people. It is a
noticeable fact that the bridegroom is the son
of the Chief Justice of Tennessee and the bride
is the daughter of the Chief Justice of
Kentucky.
Both
Houses of the Legislature adjourned by
resolution, and, headed by their respective
Speaker and officers, repaired in a body to the
church. His Excellency, the Governor, and his
staff, and the heads of the departments,
attended the ceremony. It is regarded as the
most brilliant wedding that has occurred in the
capital for many a day. The bride was given away
